Arts Orange County is proud to be facilitating participation by Orange County students and educators in the 2019-20 Poetry Out Loud Program. We welcome back all previously involved Poetry Out Loud Orange County schools. We also openly encourage any new and interested schools to come aboard, ask questions, and get involved in this amazing opportunity on behalf of their students.

Schools must register by the end of December, and hold their competitions by January 24th. School winners advance to the County Competition on February 4th. One County winner advances to the State Competition in Sacramento on dates to be determined. The California state champion receives:
• $200 cash prize and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.
• $500 for their school to purchase literary materials
• An opportunity to compete at the National Finals for college scholarship funds
The National Finals in Washington D.C. will take place April 27-29, 2020. Visit poetryoutloud.org to check out POL action across the country.
